Change of server name. Knife Game!

There is no way of saying this with out a lot of QQing, so I hope you can bear with me for a few. I have been playing in NU gun game for awhile now. I enjoy it because of all the great and funny people that play in the server. But, I'm tired of the increasing number of knife rounds that the admins keep putting up.

Now I don't mind the knife rounds, its a great change of pace. But, after 5 rounds of it, its enough. Having admins constantly put up votes for more knife rounds gets old quick. I don't enjoy doing knife rounds 20+ times in one game. And I don't want to have knife rounds all the way to nade level. Its Gun Game, not Knife Game.

I would appreciate it if there was any type of rule implemented. Something along the lines of one knife vote per map for 5 rounds. And I would hate to see admins put up another vote, just because the previous one failed like the trend seems to be.

I enjoy playing in the server, but if it continues it would be shame to leave it.

.... I actually have to agree with this... as an admin I do only do 5 rounds when knifing and I will not do anymore the rest of the map... of course there may have been a time or two that I have lost count and maybe done 6 or 7....
but I do believe the knifing is getting a little excessive, but I dont think the admins are to blame for all of this. I have experienced it first hand, the players are always asking for them. no matter what we always put up a vote for them and I dont know about every admin but the vote has to be at a certain percentage.... Higher than 60 percent before knife rounds are done. but all in all shnarf yes, sometimes the knife rounds do go a little to long.

I agree, but honestly I just go until the first person asks to stop and make a vote to stop.
But if too many people complain I stop the knife rounds.
But sometimes I get in game and the knife round start on glock when other admins are on.
Makes no sense.
All in all I agree with Shnarf and Smurf.

Yeah, your all right it last so long sometimes and if even stops the balance of the match gets all whacked out because one team is on aks while the other is on pistols its just to much, I get tired of it and leave the server.

maybe u should play when i get on gg. there are at least 3 guys that ask me for kniferounds. and they dont want just 1. and i dont think theres anything wrong with kniferounds as long as there are votes for them. 1 round is like nothing and there are some maps, like shotty and run n gun, where ppl just want to do lots of kniferounds.

just a thought out of the blue but..... its a fucking gungame server leave the players to play it how its meant to be played. if they want a knife server then they have a list of servers in thier client browser, let them find one.

i already hate knife rounds and i agree 110% with siosios, its getting to out of hand with them. so no more with the knife rounds. and sajora i have been in there when you set them up. people dont like them for as long as you let it run and it ruins the fun of gun game.

im sorry but if the majority of the server wants knife rounds then the other players dont have to be here get what im saying there isnt a problem with the admins abusing the knife round power we the community ask for the knife rounds and we deserve the knife rounds if we want them right?

I wasnt complaining about knife rounds.... I was just saying sometimes they go on for way to long..... that admins should only do them a few times a map then say no and stop.... dont do entire maps of nothing but knife rounds....

This post keeps going on. I actually agree with Shnarf on this. It gets carried away, and it gets carried away a lot. Some people love knife rounds (myself included) but I even start hating knife rounds when one of our admins puts up a vote on every map. It was fun at first, but it is getting a bit redonkulous.
More over though, I think it's more of a mentality shift that is behind the whole thing. When I started as an admin however long ago, you played, enjoyed yourself and used your "powers" when needed. It was fun, a good time was had by all. So what is different now?
The difference is that instead of admins being there to facilitate game play, the admins are taking an active role and dictating game play (knife rounds, 1hp glock matches, etc). I was taught and trained that as an admin, you sit and play the game and just basically keep it moving, get rid of hackers, bump people in the right direction (not literally w/ slap) when they start spamming or camping, and make sure that a bad apple or two don't spoil the fun for the rest.
What that translated to in the game was that the game goes on like it is meant to, and the regs have fun, we don't have all the issues we've seen lately in GG w/ admin abuse complaints (just because it's fun for you doesn't mean everyone likes it). Now we have brand new admins that are all set up on Admin B status and have abilities from the start that they need to "grow" in to. It's rediculous to me that a new admin on day one has the balls to use sm_slap @all with everyone, but at the end of the day, its indicitive of how it has been.


Lastly before I shut up I'll say that I have also seen a lot more admin applications for GG recently since this has happened. Take it for what it is worth, but when people love the servers, the community and the game, they will pay for Admin and enjoy it and do thier job the right way.. However, more people are intersted when they can dick around with their admin powers all day and slap people around and such. Take it for what it's worth.

I too just get a bit tired of coming to the boards and seeing something about admin abuse and having it be an issue on GG server again. And the unfortunate thing is that a lot of times, it's pretty accurate.
