Thread: Ideas on some DM maps

    I love the current maps for DM except orange, scout knivez and some others. Dust village mod is awesome, and it's designed for the rifles so I wouldn't want to see it going away. Cal maps would be a good decision but not too many, otherwise people will just complain like most do with dm_dust2

    Like i had stated, my inclusion of dust 2 was kinda of a test for future CAL map rotation. And if we were to judge soley by that, then the idea would fail miserably...

    But i would hate to jump to conclusions. I personally would LOVE to see CAL/CEVO rotational maps in DM. Aztec, Mill, Nuke (fuck yea) and train would be some great additions, allowing both awpers and riflers equal chance. It might even draw in new members (a challenge!!) and maybe prove to be a practice spot for our own CAL team (i know the rush and go style can be counter-productive, but nothing like running thru maps repeatedly to ingrain every facet into your skull =P).

    DM could use some fresh blood...maybe this would be it.

    The only thing that I am worried about would be when putting CAL maps into the rotation and then serious CAL/CEVO players start playing,the ones that are always serious and think that their shit don't stink(word has/is never been like this they are always respectful and fun to play with ) the laid back(but competitive), easy going, friendly(usually) environment that is a part of the N/U DM might be lost.

    Is there anyway to have a set up where when the map is about to change people can vote for the next map.

    Have a bunch of these maps on their and see which ones get played the most?



    I have no idea how any of that stuff works. =/

    Just comes with the turf. Ppl will who get my respect have to earn it. If they like talking shit then w/e, as long as they can back it up. Most of the time, you chit chat a bit and they turn out to be decent ppl. I can name a few ppl here like that off hand.

    We had a plugin like that, but Sio was having trouble with it. Instead of him wasting his valuable time, i told him to scrap it. :/

    It's up to him if he wants to spend the time integrating into the server...

    We have a pretty good voting plugin (grab the mapchooser.smx from disabled dir in /addons/sourcemod/plugins/disabled/) and that seems to work out for us very well. DM Timer is good too because it forces the map to change for us. works well!

    The best maps are ones that people give positive feedback on. Hang-em high is totally cool. We like to run regular maps, but a different version such as de_dust2_night. The FPS stays high, but people aren't bummed out that it's a regular map. cs_office_night_final really makes people comfortable with a stock map, but it's nighttime! Makes them feel like they're playing a new map. A new favorite for NS players has been de_inferno_fog. It's like 1.6 for source! People totally dig it and it's high FPS!

    I will remake dm_bloodbath so it doesn't have the broken spawn and it isn't horrendously dark. That map would have been amazing otherwise... It had just about as much carnage as poolday, and you could rifle, awp, or smg depending on the areas you went around in.
