yeah, ppl will voteban for just about anything now. it's a little ridiculous. when were you on? i didn't get on last night until like 11:00 i think. fun time, fun times. like you said, i don't care about stats, but it'd be nice to find some way of having ppl just play for the fun of it, without their precious stats being affected too much.

Taking stats off the server would rape the player base, yeah itll stop the stat whoring (obviously) but a lot of people will leave.

i posted on the "warcraft server" thread an idea i posted like a month ago. let me go grab, copy, paste it here. try and get some different opinions on it.

Basically you mean invite people to play...? We do that already...

not invite to play really, as much as focus on specifically one server each night. instead of having different ppl try to get the same ppl to go to their server, which is usually low in population so ppl don't want to play there, have all the regs that are willing and admin and whatnot go to ONE server. ppl are more willing to go to server's that are fuller, even if they don't normally play there. changing the server each night gives "advertising" to each one allowing ppl to get to know the different servers and play some new ones. then, they might invite ppl. it's basically just a small advertising schema aimed particularly at an individual server each night.

well since a lot of us hate the fact that everyone votebans people because they get knifed and such...why not take it off? but id say keep the votekick because of when their playing and people are afk for soo long in spec and take up slots. (unless their an admin/VIP). hmm..as for maps..put them on the server anyways, like smurf said have a testing weekend that most of our regs should participate in to rate new maps. and if we like it, it stays, if not..it goes. like they said with minesweeper it eventually became a map a lot of people like now. so just give the maps a chance.

ill be honest, i hatee run n gun and weaver..but either i sit in spec and wait patiently until the maps over or i suck it up and still play because im having fun, or i leave and have someone in there let me know when map changes.

i like the getting rid of voteban. what would the repercussions be?

well lets see the only people that have ever gotten votebanned to my knowlage would me panda, silenced, and I, and being how panda and silenced dont play here any more I have no complaints. I dont see a situation in the future where the voteban is needed as mgungame admins are usually on. I vote get rid of it, but keep vote kick for when we try to vote map and theres ppl afk in spec.

dont matter who has been votebanned or who hasnt.... the fact is that when you even suggest it for something like that all you are doing is running people off. the only time voteban should be used is when an admin isnt on and someone is breaking major rules (like hacking)
