I prefer AMD over intel for one, very simple reason.
Itel has hyperthreading. That creates a virtual core that is only up to 20% processing boost per core. So a Quad core with hyperthreading is really only a quad core with an extra core only capable of puling 80% of the load of the other cores. Hyperthreading cores are only worth its weight in business applications, IMO. Multitasking office work.

AMD's have hypertransport, and a very nice little thing that is too. For every bit of data Intel processes, AMD processes two.

Simply put..
Intel = good for multitasking
AMD= good for pure raw power. ^.^


I have a desktop running a 3.8 G Aircooled Phenom 2 Quad Black.
My two laptops have 2.0-2.9 G I7 quads.

I prefer AMD.
