    need help computer gurus

Ok so tonight while playing a game, my computer completely locked up; couldn't move my mouse, couldn't get to desktop, nothing. So I shut it down by holding down the power button. When I try to boot it back up, all I hear are all the fans going off in my computer and no windows booting up. Tried it a few times and still not getting windows, tried putting in a new video card to see if my video card was bad, still nothing. Do you think my motherboard is fried? My computer is a dell btw, had it for over 2 years.

can you get into bios and see if the screen comes on? 7 times out of 10 when you turn on the pc and only hear the fans it would seem that youve lost your motherboard.

do you hear the drives knocking about like its loading windows or is there nothing but fans?

          this.

Faulty ram could be considered. I had a stick fail on me and my BIOS wouldn't even post. If you have more than one stick, try turning off your computer and removing all ram. then insert them back in one at a time.

I'll try that ender, but I had a ram error in the past, and my dell has the 4 diagnostic lights in the front that will tell you what's wrong with the computer, and now none of the lights turn on, not even the lighting on the front of the computer.

before u say the board is dead u should check the RAM,power supply and also look at all ur wiring cables your computer for loose wiring that may be causing your power to barley go through your computer.
in my opinion looking at the cheap things first are a better idea because motherboards cost a pretty penny.

nice, so then if it is something minor it is a pleasant surprise . Also Sean do u have a power supply tester? If not i would say order one, i have found they come it very very handy when trouble shooting.
