VAC Banned?

this is fucked up..... O_o so basically because my account was hacked a year ago I can look forward to being VAC banned because the asshole was hacking under my account, which he hacked >
sounds like a way to keep the money rolling in to me.....

Smurf to protect urself u could get a new Steam account and sell all ur games to the new one before u get VAC'd.

I don't know that you can get banned for that. ZM has been no-steam for well over a year, and before that I've been playing on my friend's ZM servers which have been No-Steam like for ever and she hasn't been VAC'd yet either. So unless I get VAC'd at some point in the future (I never hacked and my account never got stolen) I find it highly doubtful that they can let that happen to you.

I'm not really sure. All I know is that the only game I ever bought was CS:S but people have given me Portal, HL2, and Garry's Mod...

Lol, Nat is a nubcaek, those were either extra copies or purchased directly off the store(your garrysmod), that I know of you cannot sell your games to others, just think, you get hacked, hacker gives your games to himself, although if this were possible hackers would cause valve to have a profit increase from all the people who get phished by steam gold or nvidiafreegifts. They would want to buy new copies of the games. $$$

agree with cancer. also, sometimes you can get those games for free when they first get released. kinda like a promo for the first however many days. i got portal that way, then accidentally deleted it, then kicked myself for a couple of hours.

This is why i never download mods, or skins, or even tried a aimbot, and its why i use a good complex password for important accounts.

Hopefully u got banned for bs reasons and not hacks :P. but from how ive seen u play u miss to much and cant predict players movements. In other words your a legit gamer.BTW several years ago when i played BF42 my account/cdkey was hijacked aswell. i still to this day cant play on PB servers with my original cdkey, and ea refused to give me a new cdkey, and i dont wanna try keygens in fear of complicating things. So i feel your pain as ive been down a similar path before.

Err, I think you misunderstand. My steam is legit (I bought the games lol) -- it's the server that is no-steam.

VAC won't ban for Non steam/Cracked servers because those servers do not have to announce they are illegal/cracked and it would cause a frenzy of unfair bans
Won't ban for skins/textures/models either

Also Counter Strike 1.3 and CSS are totally different engines and VAC's

1.3-1.6 uses VAC 1, the first VAC, and the engine is HL1.
Source/HL2 engine/Havok uses VAC2, and the engine is HL2/Havok/Source and w/e engine MW2 uses.

VAC used to use always delayed bans til recently. It used to be 2-8 weeks after flagged for cheating for ban to take effect. With all the problems and controversy surrounding MW2 and all the hacks for it VAC has now taken actions of immediate ban once flagged.

There is a post on the web about this showing a steam account created jan 27th 10, played 6 hours of MW2 with no other game on the account and Jan 28th 10 was VAC'd.

Note Steam/Valve do not announce updates or give changes out about VAC or VAC2

I assume your account was stolen around the same time Nitehawk's was, if so this is probably what got you VAC banned as it would be about the time considering the delayed ban.

Anyone else whos account was stolen at this time should consider the possibility of becoming VAC banned in the next few days. Confirmation of this would be helpful.

Luckily at the moment you can buy like 8 games including CSS for $25ish dollars off steam store, some package thing.

Sorry for your Loss as I am sure you already know even if the account was hijacked when it was flagged Steam will not reverse your ban.

If Nitehawk can remember his old account name or someone still has his old account added can look and see if it has also been VAC'd then that would solve the problem of what got you VAC'd

It would of been banned already. You should be clear, vac only delays 2-8 weeks to allow cheaters to spread the already flagged hack to other cheaters, so when the hammer drops they pretty much kill 2500 birds with 1 hammer.
