    Latest update to CS:S apparently broke voice chat

    Seems the latest update changed something that causes voice chat to stop working correctly for a lot. Anyone who was playing in office when I was trying to "fix" the problem for myself knows what I'm talking about.

    I am not 100% sure this is the problem, but I am at least 90% sure it is. Not only did my mic not work in any of ya'lls servers, but it also didn't work in the voice test under the options. After typing in that fix into my console and trying out the voice test again, IT WORKED! I had no problems whatsoever, even after a half hours worth of testing.

    Alas, this setting seems to be a server side one. So I beg to whomever maintains these servers, please fix this as soon as you can. I really cannot see myself playing this game as often as I normally do without voice chat... because typing sucks.

      added it too all the server's. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Thank you for taking the time to find a fix and post it.

      Every new update always manages to break something else, and half the time spent is tracking down the new problems.

          I'll keep a closer eye on the CS:S SPUF then when updates hit

          Oh by the way I hope you did sv_use_steam_voice 0 instead of sv_user_steam_voice 0, don't know why the OP put the R there but yea.

          I'll try to get on soon and see if it worked. It should since thats the only thing thats really changed since my mic last worked.

                      Yea i saw that a couple posts down. All servers should be sv_use_steam_voice 0
