Obviously, the place holder isn't working well or isn't liked, you come up with positive alternatives instead of posting like a little bitch about leaving because you don't like how something is. This community is molded by positive feedback. It's people like you who want to change what isn't right for the better. Keep them coming and someone in this chain of command find something that everyone likes.

this is just an idea, but maybe rather than mong and noogy's ideas maybe make it a lil festive for the holidays or some shit like that. ex. "Welcome to n/u we hope you enjoy your stay" or "Weclome to n/u have fun and make sure to come back" something of that nature

again i cant believe im saying this lol but cogbern is on the right track we need something that is more inviting and makes people want to come back and tell there friends about it. but i believe that it needs to be in a womans voice.
