Who likes//plays this?

So yea I got sidetracked from managing Rally Race and now it has like 0 popularity, though the server itself is sound in operation and has some legitimately cool stuff like custom cars and whatnot. This server is set for success but no one plays on it. I'm going to guess it just needs population work, but is there anyone here interested in doing that? Is there anything else it needs//could use//has to have fixed?

hmmm i used to like that mod. but some of the maps are ummm, un-exciting
actually the only one i like is that pro-racer one. and the only car i like is the dune-buggy, cuz i dont really care what the car looks like but when the handling is weird and not like the buggy. i dont want to play

idk if that one glitch where after so many rounds the there are no more races, and you cant even change the map is still going on.

or if there is a rtv/type for a single player when alone to change the map.

but yea, if the Buggy became the standard car again. and if there was a way for a single person to change the map, then i would be in there more often.

As for car handling...

The buggy is in use on a number of maps such as creme island, n4a derby, bajarama, and shitter derby. The jeep handles very similarly to the buggy so if you like the buggy you should like the jeep. It's on siberia and I think pro racing plus some others like the italy one I think.

I'm guessing the handling people aren't too fond of is in the truck, lada, and mustang. The truck I can understand -- that thing has been a bitch to get its handling good, and as a result I think it is like only in use on one map. The mustang is very stiff, but that's why I only put it on like 3 maps -- race_the_loop, race_grand_tour, and another one. The lada handles closer to the jeep than the others but it's still kinda unwieldy at times.

But okay the point is that each car is only used on a map where it belongs. Prime examples -- race_the_loop and race_shitter_derby. Loop would not make any sense using any car other than the mustang. It's just a big 2-lap oval. No bumps or anything. The lada does well here too but this map is all about speed which is what the mustang delivers. Mastering of the corners on this map is what makes the difference between the n00bs and the top 10 times. If I put it on the buggy it would be insanely easy, but slow and boring as shit and it wouldn't be that competitive. Shitter derby by stark contrast sucks with any car aside from the buggy. Even the jeep just doesn't handle well enough on this map. Here the competition for top 10 is really strong, just like race_the_loop, and only the pros who know when to turbo and how to turn will win.

With all that in mind we have some options...

- Maybe get more maps that suit the buggy and the jeep?
- Have map-specific tunes for certain cars? (For example, set the jeep to drive a bit slower on siberia so the bumps don't kick its ass so bad.)
- Get rid of maps which don't use buggy or jeep that no one really likes anyway? (I'm taking suggestions here...)
- Stop using the truck because it doesn't handle well no matter what I try?

I don't want to get rid of the custom cars like altogether -- I think they make our server cooler than others -- but we can definitely do some stuff to increase the amount of buggy and jeep action.

While I'm on it, can y'all give opinions of the specific cars?

while i agree that your special cars are cool, and could get people excited.

I would start with basic maps and basic cars all over again. since we do not currently have a population to even begin to make the cars for at this time.

I dissagree with taking out the truck too, while it is unorthidox to drive, i think its random spin outs are fun and might be used on more of the longer/ smoother tracks instead of the mustangs.

so while i agreed the custom cars are good, i would put them into a shop menu.
people can get points according to what place they finish.

or just out all the custom cars in menu period, and only use the defoult trucks/buggy

I just tired out the server and it was pretty cool even tho I was the only one there. Would defiantly come back to it, tho my ping was high, what ever.

This is actually a good idea, then those "stat-whore" players would have a hook, playing to get more points-leading them to get better cars.

Sounds good, but there would need to be a way to keep them from dominating the newer players.

Well i think some of the cars should have weapons like a cannon, or a rocket laucher... but that my opinion!
