About wording rules in the server..

I have been on the server for quite some time and noticed some glitches in the rule system that we are using. Although some words are bad enough to kick someone not all derogatory terms are. I feel that all derogatory terms should not be said on the server in text or in team speak. Although some people might find some of these terms as non-offensive, other users could feel very strongly about them. I think we need to get a solid list of words and go over them with all the admin and see what words should get people kicked. Thank you for your consideration.

I'm 50-50 on this, neither with or against... BUT I do think you have something here.
What kind of "derogatory terms", could you maybe list 1 or 2 of these words so some of the other peeps could get an idea if they don't know some by now (just incase, you know what I mean).

Well we have racist words banned like the 'n' word but we don't have such words as fag (pardon my language, I find the word very offensive). I know it has other meanings like cigarette but so do most other derogatory or racist terms. I think we just need to make a solid list to admins know which words should and should not get people kicked for saying.

i dont think we need a list of that. 90% of the ppl in the servers say fag. it depends on how and when u say them. it happens that ppl say it and as long as they dont mean it in a personal way completely off the game it should be ok.

Well then shouldn't we be able to use racist terms in the same way? Because that contradicts the banning of racial slurs on the server.

More then half the people in the servers uses most of the words like fag, gay and so on... so theres really no point but just to tell them what not to say and use or we kick them =D

but words like the "N" WORD CRACKER JEW WET BACK AND OTHER WORDS THAT ARE STRICTLY ANTI RACIST OR ANTI RELGIOUS AND ANY WORD USED TO PERSONALLY DEGRADE A PERSON SHOULD BE KICKED OR BANNED FOR THAT INSTANCE BUT YES WORDS LIKE GAY QUEER AND FAG ARE USED ALL THE TIME AND SHOULD BE OK UNLESS SOMEONE IS PERSONALLY CALLING SOME ONE THOSE WORDS

I still feel that if we use these words in such a way than we shouldn't have restrictions on the others. So if someone says a racist statement jokingly it should be the same as saying a homosexually demeaning word jokingly. They're both just as bad to some people such as myself.

Err Kami all of us admins got the message from training, yes, but McLovin is proposing that we treat fag, or gay, etc... the way we would treat jew or n*****. And I do find his line of reasoning rather convincing.

"If we allow Gay and Fag and Queer to be used when not specifically referring to someone's sexuality then why don't we allow Jew and Cracker or whatever when not specifically referring to someone's religion or race?"

I think he pointed out an interesting point of hypocrisy.

I agree with Mclovin and Natalya, those words are just as bad as racist comments, you have no idea how many times I have been called a Dyke just because I am a girl playing CSS, i take a offense to the word, and i think fag and dyke should not be allowed to be said, but other people seem to think it is okay to use fag, dyke. However when the N word comes out of someones mouth or it is written, it is an uproar in the server and the person is immediatly kicked. Isn't it bieng a little ignorant/hypocrit to accept these words and not the others? The rules should be fixed.

P.S(Another thing i want to add is I do see a lot of people who say things against gays and lesbians. Basically gay bashing which i HATE with a passion. And it just shows the level of intelligence people have.)

Some of these would be allowed in certain contexts though, like dyke can be used in a non-offensive way if actually talking about lesbians. Same with gay, but others like homo and faggot... I can't see them being used in a constructive fashion.
