      By 3D texture you mean make it stick out from the background right? If so I can try that, I havent done much work with it tho so I'm not exactly sure how it'll turn out.

        hey bud you could try the bevell / emboss in photo shop or do like i do to make 3d select your text layer then hold ctrl and hit the up arrow key 15 or 20 times then link all the layers accept the very top and the last{background} then merge the linked layers and do some bevel and embossing just tinker around with some of the lighting and drop shadows you'll figure it out. sometimes you'll need to tranform and skew and stuff to make the top narrow in a little or widen the bottom a little to get the right effect.

          I was gonna do "cheap" 3D.

          Duplicating layers and connecting them to make a 3D look.
